Debbie Cates MSW, LPC
Your counselor, Debbie Cates is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received a Master of Social Work degree from Louisiana State University in 1983. She has been a professional counselor since 1984 and a committed Christian since 1971.
Debbie Cates’ approach to counseling is grounded and based on the principles set forth in the Bible. Her approach combines sound Biblical principals with an understanding of the emotional, psychological, social and spiritual issues that impact our lives; She trusts the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the counseling process and believes in the saving grace and transformation power of the Lord Jesus Christ, and encourages the use of prayer as part of the therapeutic journey.
Debbie provides individual, marriage and family counseling for adults and teenagers, from a Christian perspective. She fully integrates the Christian spiritual components of healing, transformation and growth along with the mental, emotional and physical aspects of the work she does with clients.
Every person is unique in their needs. Debbie works with each individual or family to identify those areas of need and follows the direction of the Holy Spirit to develop a plan for each person to reach their desired goals. God has called himself Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals, and Debbie believes in the healing and restorative power of the Lord Jesus Christ and is reliant on Him to bring healing, growth and transformation to those with whom she works.
